Cruise Lines » Fred Olsen
The company has been refining and perfecting its cruising experience for over 150 years. Passengers appreciate the high on-board standards of accommodation, relaxed British atmosphere, varied menus composed of the freshest ingredients, friendly staff, top entertainment and exciting destinations in all corners of the globe.
Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines operates 5 ships providing the ideal holiday at sea for the British cruise passenger. With the language on board being English and prices in pounds sterling, there is a definite ‘home from home’ feel throughout the fleet. The five ships – Black Watch, Black Prince, Braemar and Boudicca and Balmoral – are small by today’s standards with the largest and newest addition to the fleet, Balmoral carrying only 1,340 passengers based on double occupancy. The ‘country house’ atmosphere is something the Olsen family is keen to nurture, and is an element of the holiday for which the company is well known.
For most of the year the ships are based in the UK with cruises departing from Southampton, Dover, Leith, Greenock, Liverpool, Newcastle and Belfast, plus selected departures from Dublin. Seasonal fly/cruise programmes operate from the ports of Civitavecchia (Rome); Miami and Barbados.
Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines offers itineraries to worldwide destinations including Scandinavia and the Arctic, the Baltic, Mediterranean, Canary and Atlantic islands, Africa, the Caribbean and Amazon, Canada and Around the World. Cruise lengths vary from 2 nights to 107 nights.
