Cunard ships provide the more traditional voyages or long cruises and offer spacious surroundings, elegant public rooms and excellent cuisine. Now owned by the Carnival Corporation, Cunard cruise line has continued its rationalisation programme. QE2 and Queen Mary 2 are to be joined by the state of the art Queen Victoria.

QE2 offers worldwide cruising aboard the last of the great liners and has been joined by the impressive 150,000 tonne Queen Mary 2. The 90,000 tonne Queen Victoria is scheduled to join the fleet in December 2007.

Sailing aboard a Cunard ship is different to being on board any other cruise ship. All the cunard ships offer the tradition of an ocean going liner with much maritime history. Some of the differences of a cunard ship is that the libraries are run by proffesssional librarians rather than cruise ship staff and the ships have male hosts to act as dancing partners for women travelling alone.

Cunard ships are ideally suited to the discerning traveller couples and singles alike. Unique to the Cunard line is the option take your dog on a transatlantic crossing.

There are also good facilities for children and very young children are looked after by English nannies.

QM2 has more glitz and glam than its sister ship the QE2 which is more suited to those seeking traditional and classical crusing.

The Cunard ships: Queen Elizabeth 2 (1969), Queen Mary 2 (2004), Queen Victoria (2007).
